Meet the The Crochet Sanctuary Team

Your hosts

Lisa from The Wee House of Crochet

I only started to learn to crochet about 5-6 years ago, I taught myself using YouTube videos, reading magazines and books.  I love to make blankets, Mandalas, hats and shawls, anything intricate and pretty, my favourite designers have to be Helen Shrimpton, Ruby Webbs and Lakeside Loops, I am also a huge hand dyed yarn fan.  I am pretty much hooked (pardon the pun) to say the least!

I did however quickly realise that I was on my own with crochet, none of my friends or family were interested in it at all, so I decided to start my own crochet group,  where I've made some fabulous life long friends,  this is where I met the lovely Lynda from Lyndas Craft Room, we are both fanatical about crochet, we have very different tastes which is great because we both learn from each other, we are also very honoured to have both co-designed a number of crochet alongs, and stash busters over the last few years.  I still pinch myself today that our hobby has turned into a business that doesn't feel like a job!  And I cannot wait to meet you at The Crochet Sanctuary, see you there!

Lynda from Lyndas Craft room

My mum taught me the basics of crochet when I was very young, (after her attempt at teaching me to knit failed!) I picked it up on and off during my childhood but only got serious about it in my twenties. I get a bit bored when making blankets so you are more likely to find me making amigurumi, especially Lalylala or Zabbez patterns. I love different colour schemes, crocheting in public and taking photos of my makes at the local nature reserves. I must look a bit odd lying in the grass and climbing fences but I really don't care!

I am also very proud that both Lisa and I have co-designed a number of CALs over the years.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you all at The Crochet Sanctuary, see you there!

Paul aka Loomatic Paul

Paul is an absolute Legend, we really physically could not run our retreats with him.  He helps us to pack and unload all of our stock for each event, he unloads the cars, and transports everything to The Crochet Sanctuary room, he is just fabulous.  Paul is Lyndas Partner and he is a massive loom knitter, and also loves to diamond paint for relaxation, he has now made hundreds upon hundreds of hats that he very kindly donates to homeless charities.  Paul has been known to join us for an hour or 2 on the last day, so you'll more than likely see him on one of the  retreats

We couldn't run The Crochet Sanctuary without Pauls help, behind the scenes he is a crucial team member!
