Meet the The Crochet Sanctuary Team
Lisa from The Wee House of Crochet
I only started to learn to crochet about 4 years ago, I taught myself using YouTube videos, reading magazines and books. I love to make blankets, Mandalas and shawls, anything intricate and pretty, my favourite designers have to be Helen Shrimpton, Janie Crowfoot, and I am a huge fan of Amanda Blooms Little Box of Crochet. I am pretty much hooked (pardon the pun) to say the least!
I did however quickly realise that I was on my own with crochet, none of my friends or family were interested in it at all, so I decided to start my own crochet group, it started quite slowly but it has really built up and I've made some fabulous friends, this is where I met the lovely Lynda from Lyndas Craft Room, we are both fanatical about crochet, we have very different tastes which is great because we both learn from each other, we are also very honoured to both co-design the Knitcraft Crochet A longs, our first being Tea on the Green, shortly followed by Christmas is, the very fabulous Knitcraft Water Garden and falling leaves. My all time high was when both Lynda and I were asked to design a little box of crochet for February valentine box!! I cannot wait to meet you at The Crochet Sanctuary, see you there!

My mum taught me the basics of crochet when I was very young, (after her attempt at teaching me to knit failed!) I picked it up on and off during my childhood but only got serious about it in my twenties. I get a bit bored when making blankets so you are more likely to find me making amigurumi, especially Lalylala or Zabbez patterns. I love different colour schemes, crocheting in public and taking photos of my makes at the local nature reserves. I must look a bit odd lying in the grass and climbing fences but I really don't care!
I am also very proud that both Lisa and I co-design for Knitcraft, our first design was Tea on the Green, then Christmas is.... and The Water Garden which is a current CAL.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you all at The Crochet Sanctuary, see you there!
Paul aka Loomatic Paul
Paul is an absolute Legend, he helps us to pack and unload all of our stock for each event, carries them upstairs if required and also helps us to set up, he is just fabulous. Paul is Lyndas Partner and he has very recently taken up loom knitting, he has now made hundreds of hats that he very kindly donates to homeless charities. Paul has been known to join us for an hour or 2 on the last day!
We couldn't run The Crochet Sanctuary without Pauls help, behind the scenes he is a crucial team member!
Abby is Lisa's daughter, and often attends The Crochet Sanctuary, she helps to set up the room, she's our resident DJ ha! She also helps us to pack away after a busy weekend. Abby is good at most crafts but doesn't committ herself to anything, so Lisa is praying one day she catches the crochet bug. Abby is just about to start college and hopes to be a midwife when she has finished.
She will admit she is only at The Crochet sanctuary for the food!
